5… Five weeks to go… It’s hard to believe I’m so close to the end of contract 1, yet there’s still so much to do in that time…  Backing up, Yesterday went pretty smoothly. Had a setup in the morning, CFWM in the afternoon, met with Matt about Light Tech stuff to get that rolling, so I’ll be working with him for awhile to see about that promotion.

Tuesday started with some work on lighting, but nothing fancy, just setting up a demo for my possible promotion. Some time to chill, Setup and Strike the P&D (Platinum and Diamond) party, two Headliner shows where I ran spots and that’s it… Didn’t even get off in Jamaica…

I bet you can guess the main topic of this blog, but let me back up a bit before we get there… Saturday was nothing special, just a few things after I blogged including Hairspray and a partial turnaround for the night rehearsal. After that, I got a call to help at Karaoke and met the new swinger. I stayed till the end of the night to show her the ropes and she seems to be ok so far since I didn’t get a call last night…

6 weeks… I have 6 weeks left to finish my current goals of Scuba Certification and promotion to Light Tech… It’s all come down to the next few weeks and it’s starting to feel like crunch time. I’ll back up, but there’s not a lot to say… The last two days were pretty normal sea days with CFWM tech and shows, only one Splish Splash, a parade, and basically getting very little useful done…

Saturday… Sanitization barrier, off the ship for a few hours, Passenger Drill, Hairspray Tech, Hairspray Show (learned new track), Karaoke was a very slow evening… Blah, I barely feel like writing this blog. just don’t have much energy at this point, but I needed to write something before too long or I’d forget most of what had happened… this will probably be just an overview post, just so I have some record for this week…

So let’s just run through the updates and future changes. Last night was pretty much as expected, triple Karaoke and some time at the bar, nothing unusual. Today and the next few weeks will be the odd times… Today was easy, I got to sleep in, work on my Scuba HW, a quick strike, then went for my first Scuba Quizzes. I passed them with no trouble, took a break to celebrate, ran spot for farewell… all I have left is Karaoke tonight…

Right after I blog something, things change about it. Sunday night, I did cover FiT and Hairspray for our injured Stage Staff, but he was mostly back by the next day. Karaoke hosts will still rotate, which is always good, and I finally found a few things to keep me motivated aboard the ship. I didn’t actually get to do Karaoke Sunday, but I still stopped by to say hi.

So right after I wrote my last blog, I actually made some progress towards projects. I figured out how to turn on the cameras in On Air and set them up for Karaoke, I got together my paper list of lighting experience, a few other little things. The evening was pretty average aside from playing with the cameras during Karaoke and I’m sure I got some sleep after…

I haven’t been that motivated to get things done lately. I have done a few things, but I’m having trouble getting back to my own little projects… Ah well… I will get back to it shortly… Tuesday we had an All Crew Boat Drill in the morning, then we took down the snowflakes and such from the Promenade. I got off the ship for a little for internet and a stroll, didn’t have much to do, so kinda just chilled till work and Karaoke. The only thing after that was catching the tail end of a Laser Tag tournament in the theatre.

So as promised, I’ll back up to the point where Amy left. Most of the day was routine with the Passenger Drill, then a break for awhile and one quick setup. Karaoke was pretty dead, with barely any singers, but it was also overlapping with the start of the festivities on the Promenade.
